Ready Fest Back to School Event

Every year Ready Fest has a one-day event where any child attending school in Shelby County and their families can come and pick up the supplies they will need for the upcoming school year.

All of this is given to any student in Shelby County at absolutely no cost to them.

All grade-level supplies required from Shelby County Public Schools’ annual school supply list plus:
Backpacks
Hygiene products
Clothing
Dental screenings
Immunizations
Haircut gift cards
Kindergarten and sixth grade physicals
Community organizations ranging from the Imagination Library to the Kentucky Attorney General’s office to spread awareness of all the incredible programs and services that are available to families in Shelby County.
Snowcones, popcorn, free books and activities, and a whole lot of fun.

What to Know Before You Go

What does my household Income level need to be to participate in the Ready Fest Back-to-School Event?

Ready Fest provides back-to-school supplies to EVERY SCHOOL CHILD in Shelby County, regardless of income level.

If I have two children in school, can I get school supplies for both of them?

Absolutely. Ready Fest is here for any Shelby County child attending school. Public school, private school, home school, every school!

What Identification do I need to bring to Ready Fest to participate?

None. If your child goes to school in Shelby County, Ready Fest is here to help

What does it cost to go to the Back-to-School Event?

Nothing. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY FREE EVENT.

I don’t know what items are on my child’s school supply list!

Don’t worry, we do! All you need to know is your kiddo’s grade and school, and we have exactly what they need waiting for them.

I’m in high school. You guys can’t know what I need for my classes!

Well, you’re right. But we have a pretty solid selection of most of the things you will need, so you can pick out your own notebooks, binders, pens, and pencils!

What if my kids can’t come to the event?

Your kiddo doesn’t need to attend the event to benefit from it. As long as you register the child during the event, any responsible adult or sibling can pick up what they need in their absence.

What if nobody in my family can come to the event?

We’ve still got you covered. Ready Fest will be providing the FRYSC at every SCPS school with supplies that you can pick up at your Back-to-School Bash, or even on the first day of school.

What if my child becomes overstimulated at the event?

There will be a dedicated Quiet Room at the Conference Center, with dimmed lights, comfy seating, snuggly blankets and pillows, drinks and snacks, and calming, grounding activities like coloring, reading, and fidget toys. No screens allowed.

Where can we park?

The Shelbyville Trolley will be circling between Southside Elementary and the Conference Center during the event! Park at Southside Elementary, and enjoy a free trolley ride that will drop you off at the door, and take you back to your car when you are done.

Ready Fest Incorporated is a non-profit 501(c)3 Kentucky corporation, established, funded, and run entirely by volunteers.
